SHALE INHIBITION CHEMICALS | INTRODUCTION
There are three approaches to stopping the clay formations /shale deteriorating upon contact with the drilling fluid /mud:

- Slow down the shale water reaction or render the clay inert (drilling mud inhibiting chemicals).
- Limit the penetration into the shales (polymers, asphaltenes and polyglycols)
